With its small, modular design, the iSTAR Edge two- or four-reader edge controller combines cutting-edge IP technology with an advanced feature set to bring access control decision making right to the door making installation easy, cost-effective, and secure. With an optional Power over Ethernet (PoE) plug-in module with PoE Plus that provides ample power for four doors, iSTAR Edge leverages existing IT network infrastructure to reduce installation and startup costs. A robust local cardholder database of over 400,000 access credentials and local alarm and event buffering dramatically limits systems downtime if communication to the C•CURE host is unavailable and increases overall system reliability.
